Rev. thomas a. cassem

As a child I felt God tugging at my heart to be a pastor. I graduated from University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a degree in marketing and management and spent 17 years in sales – retail, direct consumer, and industrial distribution.   I came to Columbia, South Carolina from Oklahoma in 1987 and graduated from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in 1991.   Besides serving congregations, I have served as Coastal Conference Dean, chaplain in hospitals, adult care facilities, hospice, and funeral home ministries, and served with Military Veterans, Respite Care and Postpartum Support ministries. My instrumental and choral musical background has helped me serve congregations as Music Director, Choir Director and musician.   All of these ministry experiences have helped me grow in congregational ministry and leadership over the years. I am looking forward to new opportunities to serve our Lord and his people in life and ministry.
